Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron
Le Creuset, one of the best-known cookware brands in existence, will celebrate its hundredth anniversary in 2025. The past century has given them plenty of time to prove the lifetime guarantees on their signature enameled cast iron pieces, which often become family heirlooms. Everyone, from brides-to-be to tattooed chefs, covets Le Creuset. The Dutch ovens retain and distribute heat beautifully. They go from stove to oven to table. And cleaning the enamel surface is surprisingly easy, “even after a decade of at-least weekly use,” raves our Marketplace Editor. Le Creuset recently completed a major solar panel installation at its South Carolina warehouse, and its cast iron contains about 50% recycled metals. But it’s longevity that truly distinguishes Le Creuset as a sustainability standout. Great news for those considering the big switch: enameled cast iron works on induction as well as gas cooktops.
Please note that we don't recommend Le Creuset's nonstick cookware, which uses forever chemicals including PFAS. The enameled cast iron line is free from these chemicals, lasts forever, and we really do love to cook with it.
