Ninety Percent Apparel

Ninety Percent struck us as a strange name for a clothing company, until we learned that the brand donates 90% of its distributable profits to its employees and to charity each year. While most designers outsource production, Ninety Percent owns its factory in Bangladesh, where it became the first company to provide garment workers with health insurance. They also offer maternity and paternity leave, on-site health services, and childcare. The energy-efficient factory repurposes all its wastewater. Styles are classic and casual with a twist — think ribbed teas, tanks, loungewear, and skirts — in addition to a number of standout tops and dresses with unexpected draping and cutouts. Items come in sizes XXS to XXL and most items cost less than $100.
