Lodge Cast Iron Cookware

Over the past few years, there’s been a great deal of concern about the safety of cookware and potential exposure to forever chemicals. Lodge Cast Iron makes just about the safest cookware out there — so long as you don’t drop it on your toes! The company’s seasoned cast iron skillets contain just cast iron and the kosher soybean oil used in the pre-seasoning process. Lodge makes all of its seasoned cast iron in Tennessee, where the fifth-generation, family-owned company has been operating since 1896. (The brand produces about 80% of its wares, including all of its cast iron, in the US). Over half of the metal used is recycled. The affordable skillets last for decades, and work on all heat sources, from induction stoves to campfires. Because the material does get hot, you want one of these useful American-made handle holders nearby.

P.S. If you’re tired of rippling sheet pans, consider a cast iron sheet pan from Lodge. It’s heavy, but it will never bend on you! Handles make it easier to maneuver.
