Warp + Weft Denim

Warp + Weft, a family-owned operation, takes on one of fashion’s toughest tasks: creating sustainable denim. At its solar-powered factory, the brand weaves, dyes, and finishes all of its denim. They offer men’s and women’s clothes, including plus sizes, in classic and trendy styles (think tanks, maxi skirts, and moto jackets). The brand uses only responsible (certified by the Better Cotton Institute or Cotton USA) or Recover Recycled Cotton. And, remarkably, they say that they use only 10 gallons of water to produce their average blue jeans. This is due to special reduced dyes, water recycling, and using waterless technologies instead of repeated washing to create different textures and “vintage” washes. (Compare this to the 1800 gallons of water often used in making jeans.) Prices start at $78.
