King Arthur Baking Company

King Arthur Baking Company traces its roots to the 1790s, all the way back to the country’s first flour company. Now an employee-owned, Certified B Corp, King Arthur looks decidedly to the future. They’ve created an impressive list of sustainability goals to attain by 2030: sell flour milled exclusively from regeneratively grown wheat, convert their own facilities to renewable power, reduce their supply chain’s emissions by 30%, achieve zero waste to landfill, and make their packaging at least 50% recycled and entirely from deforestation-free fibers. Our Marketplace Editor has long-favored their flour for its flavor and consistency. Anyone looking to stock the kitchen will find pans, scales (one is solar-powered!), and quality ingredients. We also recommend checking out King Arthur’s Sustainable Baking Guide, recipes, and live and on-demand baking classes.
