Diaspora Co. sells exceptional single-origin spices and spice blends from India and Sri Lanka. Most spices trade hands up to 10 times between farm and end consumer. This results in stale, expensive spices. Diaspora is one of a few companies on the market looking to fundamentally alter and improve the spice trade. The brand partners directly with and pays living wages to family farms that practice pesticide-free farming and often use regenerative farming methods. The company’s first product, and perhaps still its best known, is its Pragati Turmeric. Other popular items include Kashmiri Saffron, Aranya Black Pepper, Anamalai Cacao, and assorted Masalas (or spice blends). We love the packaging nearly as much as the spices themselves. The exuberant tins can be repurposed and reused, and they look so good that you may never want to put them back in the spice drawer.
